A previously healthy girl aged 15 years presented with a nocturnal onset of a large painful hard mass over her left trochanteric region, with hyperaemic skin. The following week a similar one was palpable over her right elbow. Radiographs showed well-defined calcified masses, one (12×5 cm) over the trochanteric region, and the other (3×2 cm) over the distal end of the humerus.
